June, or "June Bug," is a sweet, gentle golden hound mix, likely part greyhound. She is about 2 years old and is looking for a forever family with room to run.

Her story

June has been a much loved family dog. She is kind to everyone she meets and adores other dogs and children. City life has turned out to be hard on her, though. Traffic, planes and sirens make her anxious. Her family wants her to have the quiet, open space where she can really be herself.

What we love about June

• Sweet and gentle with everyone
• Great with kids and other dogs
• Quiet for a hound. She is not much of a barker
• She does not chew furniture

Her ideal home

• Land and a quiet setting, away from busy roads and city noise
• A secure, tall fence. She can clear 5 feet, so taller is better
• Ideally another friendly dog to play with
• An active family. She has lots of energy and needs long walks and yard time every day
• People around. She is calmer when she has company

• She pulls on the leash and startles easily, so a good harness helps
• She does not love car rides
• She does not like crates
